To use this view in Microsoft Word: First, open your document in Microsoft Word. Click Outline under the Viewing area on the ribbon.
Click View, and click the type of view you want to switch to, such as Print Layout or Read Mode. Alt+Ctrl+P for Print View, Alt+Ctrl+N for Draft View, Alt+Ctrl+O to return to Outline View.
right-click the text and choose the Paragraph Advanced Settings option from the contextual menu or use the Show advanced settings option on the right sidebar, open the Paragraph - Advanced Settings window, switch to the Indents Spacing tab, select the necessary outline level from the Outline level list.
Add an outline, shadow, reflection, or glow text effect Select your text or WordArt. Click Home Text Effects. Click the effect you want. For more choices, point to Outline, Shadow, Reflection, or Glow, and then click the effect you want.
Beginning on the next page is an outline template (in Microsoft Word format), which is filled in with a sample to show you what a final outline looks like. Here is how to fill in your own outline: Triple click on a sentence to highlight it. (Or swipe across it with a mouses left key held down.)

To get started, you simply enable outline view by going to the View tab and selecting Outline in the Views section of the ribbon. Unlike print or web layout view in Word, outline view comes with its own set of tools in the ribbon.
