University of Toronto admission statistics The University of Toronto is one of the hardest schools to get into in Canada, as it also places high in the Canadian universities ranking. The school has an acceptance rate of 43%, and the average GPA of accepted students sits around 3.6.
Admissions officers are usually too busy to search for you online; however, if something in your application makes them wonder about you, they may indeed do a search. If they do a search, they are not supposed to use any information they find about you in their decision on your application.
Admissions officers look at hard factors (GPA, grades, and test scores) and soft factors (essays, extracurricular activities, recommendations, and demonstrated interest) to gain a full picture of applicants.
Middle 50% data for admitted students from U.S. high schools: Grade point average of between 3.6-4.0. SAT combined score 1330 1500; ACT composite 29-34.
Around an 85% average is a requirement for U of T; however, each program has a different average required for admission. The average entering Grade at U of T is over 91% making it very competitive to apply!
In general, admission to undergraduate programs is based on a minimum average of 70% (on a 50% passing scale) on five high school admission subjects required by the program of study at the Grade 12-level (or equivalent). All five admission subjects must be above the minimum passing grade.
The Cote de Rendement (R score) will be used for admission and scholarship consideration for most programs. In addition, we will review your entire academic record, including multiple failures and repeated courses. R-Score of mid 20s or more is required for admission consideration.
Minimum Admission Requirements Minimum grade of 70% in Grade 12 English (or equivalent). Minimum grades in prerequisite courses (program dependent, but typically can be 70% or 75%).
