In our previous video, we studied different parts of the human eye and their functions. In this video we are going to roughly see how light propagates inside the eye and how we are able to see the objects around us. And for that, we will consider a simplified 2 dimensional image of our eye! So how does light travel inside? Suppose we are looking at an object which is some distance away Not too far away though. The light from that object enters our eye and falls on the CORNEA first. What is cornea? It is this curved and transparent outer layer guarding the entrance to the eye! First, the light is REFRACTED by the cornea. This refracted light then travels through the transparent fluid present in between which is also called the AQUEOUS HUMOR. From this fluid, light then enters the pupil and falls on the lens inside. This eye lens is a biconvex lens and it refracts the light such that the all light coming from a point on an object is FOCUSED on the retina. This is where the image is for

What is normal vision? Light enters the eye through the cornea. From the cornea, the light passes through the pupil. From there, it then hits the lens. Next, light passes through the vitreous humor. Finally, the light docHubes the retina.
Coloboma of the iris is a hole or defect of the iris of the eye. Most colobomas are present since birth (congenital). A cat eye is a type of coloboma. Any defect in the iris that allows light to enter the eye, other than through the pupil, is called a coloboma.
Light passes through the front of the eye (cornea) to the lens. The cornea and the lens help to focus the light rays onto the back of the eye (retina). The cells in the retina absorb and convert the light to electrochemical impulses which are transferred along the optic nerve and then to the brain.
The iris controls the amount of light entering the eye.
How Does the Eye Work? Step 1: Light enters the eye through the cornea. Step 2: The pupil adjusts in response to the light. Step 3: The lens focuses the light onto the retina. Step 4: The light is focused onto the retina. Step 5: The optic nerve transmits visual information to the brain.
The iris controls the amount of light that enters the eye by opening and closing the pupil. The iris uses muscles to change the size of the pupil. These muscles can control the amount of light entering the eye by making the pupil larger (dilated) or smaller (constricted).
When light hits the retina (a light-sensitive layer of tissue at the back of the eye), special cells called photoreceptors turn the light into electrical signals. These electrical signals travel from the retina through the optic nerve to the brain. Then the brain turns the signals into the images you see.
The first step in seeing is to focus the light rays onto the retina, which is the light sensitive layer found inside the eye. Once the light is focused, it stimulates cells to send millions of electrochemical impulses along the optic nerve to the brain.

Some of this light enters the eye through an opening called the pupil (PYOO-pul). The iris (the colored part of the eye) controls how much light the pupil lets in. Next, light passes through the lens (a clear inner part of the eye). The lens works together with the cornea to focus light correctly on the retina.
