So, you loaded up the mesh, the Ultraflex mesh, I think its 328. You printed the whole roll. OK. Now, your ink collectors, they dont look like this. Theyre all covered in ink because you put all that ink through the mesh. Thats fine. Now, youve done it so many times that these ink collectors, you need to replace them. How does that work? Well, things are a little confusing on that score. So, let me help you out. What youre actually replacing is not the whole platen, not the whole ink collector. Youre just going to replace the blue inserts. Those are the consumables. Those are fairly straightforward. They have little clicks. You just pull them right out. Once youve taken them out, they look like this. This is what you want to buy. This is the consumable. This is a part that you can order from your reseller, really. But you can find it on the PDF description of the printer. Unfortunately, its no on our website; not on the HP website, although its on a lot of our reseller websi

What is latex ink? Generally, latex ink is a heat-fusing type, which allows printing on various un-coated base materials even though it is a water-based ink. Handling is similar to water pigment ink, but it can be fused to the base material like a solvent ink, making it waterproof and robust against scratches.
Latex printing ink is both eco-friendly and damage-resistant, making it the perfect choice for both indoor and outdoor product applications. Latex inks have continued to gain momentum in the marketplace for their unique water-based composition and ever-improving commercial print technologies.
The cost of refilling an ink cartridge at Walgreens depends on the color of the ink that you need to refill. If you are refilling a black ink cartridge, youll pay $10 for each cartridge. Refilling a colored one costs $25 per cartridge. These prices are the same across different cartridges from various printer brands.
Most printer companies advise against refilling your own printer ink. Instead, they recommend that you purchase new cartridges from them directly. Refilling your own cartridges may void your ability to receive tech support from the printer manufacturer, so refill at your own risk.
There is a black spot on the white-sticker covering the top-cover of the cartridge. Underneath the black spot is a hole through which ink can be injected into the cartridge. You can peel off the sticker to locate the hole. Or simply pierce the black spot with a needle ( as shown in the figure ).
Latex is water based ink. It is made from polymers (or resin - a man-made synthetic, not from a rubber tree where latex is derived), water, and pigment. Polymers encapsulate the pigments and are dissolved by heat to form a membrane that firmly affixes pigments to the surface of the media.
Latex printing is used across a wide range of applications and materials such as soft signage, wallpapers, vehicle graphics, banners and vinyl. With uses both indoor and outdoor, the ability to print on both coated and uncoated materials makes this method of printing extremely versatile.
A latex printer is a printer which creates designs using latex ink. To expand on this, the print heads used by a latex printer distribute water-based ink using latex as a carrier for the color pigment.
