Right now Im using TeXMaker but the basic idea is the same no matter which compiler youre using. so this point basically Ive got the most basic TeX document that you could have. Ive just got the begin document and end document and then a document class and just a little bit of text, Hello, and welcome to my presentation Theres nothing else going on right now. Lets say at the most basic level all I want to do is throw a picture somewhere in this document. Then you just have to use a special package And and that package is called graphicx. axe all in lower case letters thats going to allow me to import a picture into this document so lets say I have a graph I that I wanna throw and its just hanging out in my downloads folder its this one called graph 1 right there I want to throw that in my tech document well theres just one problem: out right now this is just hanging out

The first setting to check is whether the compiler is in Normal mode rather than Fast [draft] mode (in the drop-down menu under the Recompile button). The Fast [draft] mode skips some steps in order to speed-up compilation, and often doesnt show included images.
Citing in LaTeX To begin citing sources within your LaTeX document, you can use the biblatex package. Add \usepackage{biblatex} to your preamble. Note that there are other packages that you could use for this, including the natbib package, which is also a popular option.
Including images in your LaTeX document requires adding: \usepackage{graphicx} to the beginning/preamble of your document. \includegraphics{ } command tells LaTeX to insert the image. To upload an image, click the upload button, and upload your image file.
Latex can not manage images by itself, so we need to use the graphicx package. To use it, we include the following line in the preamble: \usepackage{graphicx} . The command \graphicspath{ {./images/} } tells LaTeX that the images are kept in a folder named images under the directory of the main document.
Use commands like \centering or \raggedright inside figure. Also dont use figure at all if you want the image to stay. figure is a float and should always be the outer most environment. And dont use \centering if you dont want to center.
