There is no any predefined concept of formula in XML. So, you can develop you own system with appropriate data schema and processing of expressions and so on. XML is no more then a media for storing data. Basically, you have two major choices: unparsed expressions and parsed.
Step 1: Create your Excel spreadsheet. The first thing you need is an Excel spreadsheet. Step 2: Create your XML schema. Step 3: Enable the Developer tab. Step 4: Open the XML Source pane. Step 5: Add an XML Map. Step 6: Drag and drop the XML elements into your spreadsheet. Step 7: Export your XML data.
Lets take an example of a simple formula. On the worksheet, click the cell in which you want to enter the formula. Type the = (equal sign) followed by the constants and operators (up to 8192 characters) that you want to use in the calculation. For our example, type =1+1. Notes: Press Enter (Windows) or Return (Mac).
Create a calculated column Create a table. Insert a new column into the table. Type the formula that you want to use, and press Enter. When you press Enter, the formula is automatically filled into all cells of the column above as well as below the cell where you entered the formula.
All Excel formulas begin with an equal sign (=). After the equal symbol, you enter either a calculation or function. For example, to add up values in cells B1 through B5, you can either: Type the entire equation: =B1+B2+B3+B4+B5.
To use the Go to Referenced Cell shortcut: Select the cell that contains the reference to the cell you want to go to. Press F5 to open the Go to dialog box. In the Reference field, type the cell reference of the cell you want to go to. Click OK.
