Okay, here we have a works cited page that you want to do a hanging indent on. Theres a couple things to keep in mind. You want to make sure that you can see your ruler. If you cant see the ruler, go to View. Show ruler should be checked. The second thing is for entries that are more than one line you want to make sure you havent used the Enter key. So, after 72., you have a space and then Booth. If you hit Enter to get this on the next line, its not going to know that thats part of the line before it, so its not going to do the indent right. From here forward, were going to assume that the lines that belong together dont have an enter key used. The enter key happens here, and here, etc. Lets select the entire area that you want. Use the left mouse key, and then drag down, and then take your cursor up to the ruler. Youll see a horizontal line and a triangle right now. They act together so just left click on them anywhere and drag them to the right half an inch. Youll know i

A quick and common way to indent is to use the Tab key. This will create a first-line indent of a half-inch. Place the insertion point at the very beginning of the paragraph you want to indent. Press the Tab key on the keyboard.
You can also adjust the amount of space between your text and the edge of the page by indenting it. Place the text cursor in a paragraph. Click the Increase indent or Decrease indent button. Click and drag the Left Indent arrow to adjust the indent.
This ensures that the first line of each entry will begin at the left margin. Click the Format option in the top menu. Go down to Align indent and select Indentation options. Open the Special indent drop-down menu and select Hanging. Adjust the depth of the indent as needed.
To indent all of the lines in a highlighted segment of text, click on the Format menu in Google Docs, followed by Align Indent. Then click on Indentation Options. In the Indentation Options window, you can select a specific number of inches to indent the highlighted text to the right or to the left.
Select a paragraph or paragraphs to format as a first line indent. From the menus, choose Format | Align amp; Indent | Indentation Options | then, from the Special Indent drop-down, choose First Line. As with a hanging indent, the default indent is 0.5 inches.
To use the Indent to Here character: Type Cmd/Ctrl-\ (backslash).
Open the Google Docs app, and put the cursor before the space that needs to be indented. Now tap the return key so theres space between the first line and the rest of the paragraph. Then, tap on the A with the horizontal lines in the toolbar above. Under the Paragraph section, tap on the right-indent option.
