Just a note, Microsoft recently announced a new feature called Threaded comments. This means you can reply to one another in Excel, and you can keep track of it, and they still kept the existing comment feature though, thankfully. But this resulted in a change in feature names. So, what me and you know as an Excel comment is gonna be called an Excel note. The new comments have a Reply box, which is actually another great feature of Office 365. So, in this video, Ill be talking about what will be known as notes in the future, and comments for now. So, lets jump in. How to Insert Comments in Excel (Shortcut) Select a cell where you want to insert a comment. Hold the Shift Key (or Command key if using Mac) Press the F2 key.
1. In the workbook you need to disable the right-click function on sheet tab, press the Alt + F11 keys simultaneously to open the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications window. 3. Then press the Alt + Q keys simultaneously to close the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications window.
You can do this by clicking and dragging your mouse over the cells, or by holding down the Shift key and using the arrow keys on your keyboard to select multiple cells. With your cells selected, right-click on any of them and choose Insert Comment from the menu that appears.
Make sure that the Show Comments option is enabled. This can be done by going to File Options Advanced. Under Display options for this workbook, check the Show Comments box.

To display an individual comment, right-click on the cell right-click the cell and select Show/Hide Comments. To display all comments in the worksheet, go to the Review tab Show all Comments.
In Excel for Microsoft 365, you can use Comments to have conversations with others, or use Notes to make annotations.
Select the text you want to reformat, right-click it, and then choose Format Comment. Choose the font options you want and click OK. In this example, weve changed the font style, size and color of the comment.
Right-click the cell and then click Insert Comment (or press Shift+F2). If youre using Excel for Office 365, right-click the cell and choose New Note. Type your annotation text.
The short answer is that there is no way to insert multiple comments at the same time.
