A Value-Added Tax (VAT) invoice is a document issued by an accountable person. A VAT invoice sets out the details of a taxable supply and all related information as prescribed by VAT law. A VAT invoice must issue within fifteen days of the end of the month in which goods or services are supplied.
Another important difference of VAT and NON-VAT is deductible tax from purchases/payments. If VAT Registered, the amount of VAT paid on purchases can be used as deduction from the VAT Payable. On the other, if the company is NON-VAT Registered, no deduction is allowed in computing the Percentage Tax Payable.
If youre in business, youll have heard the term invoice and probably used it to do business its simply an accounting document you send to a client to request payment for goods or services. A value-added tax (VAT) invoice is a specific type of invoice which includes sales tax on it.
Only VAT-registered businesses can issue VAT invoices and if youre VAT-registered, you must issue a VAT invoice whenever you supply standard rate or reduced rate goods or services to another VAT-registered person. Normally you must issue a VAT invoice within 30 days of the date you make the supply.
