To use the document management capabilities of SharePoint, you must enable SharePoint integration from the Power Apps portals admin center. You must be a global administrator to perform this action. Open Power Apps portals admin center. Go to Set up SharePoint integration Enable SharePoint integration.
Open the library, click Library Settings in the Ribbon: Click Advanced Settings: Under Open Documents in the Browser, choose Open in the client application: Press OK to save the changes.
Open a OneDrive or SharePoint file in the Office app instead of Select the file in OneDrive or SharePoint. Select the More icon. , then select Open Open in app.
Navigate to the Document Library Click on Settings gear Library Settings from the menu. Under the Opening Documents in the Browser section, choose Open in the client application or Open in the browser option ing to your requirement.
How to default Office files to open in the native app Navigate to the document library, click Gear Icon Library settings. Click on Advanced settings. Under Opening Documents in the Browser section, change the radio button to Open in the client application. Click OK at the bottom of a page.
If you want documents in the specific Document Library to open in the client application this means Word or Excel on your local machine then you can select that and itll work. But this is a very local solution it applies only to the one Document Library.
Open options Left-clicking on a document in a SharePoint library will open it using Office for the web by default. Right click on an office document then choose Open to reveal the options: Open in browser (Default) Opens the file using Office for the web. Open in app Opens the file using the desktop Office 365 apps.
To set this default setting, follow these steps. Open the file in Word desktop. Click the File menu. Choose Options from the left pane. Choose Advanced from the left pane. Scroll down to the Link Handling section. Check the Open Supported Hyperlinks to Office Files in Office Desktop Apps option (Figure C).
