If PDF thumbnails are still missing on Windows, make sure that thumbnails are not turned off in File Explorer. Open File Explorer and click on the Kebab menu (three-dot menu) in the top bar. In the pop-up window, select the View tab. Now make sure the Always show icons, never thumbnails option is disabled.

Enabling Preview Pane support Open the Options menu in Windows File Explorer and select the View tab. Under the View tab, you will see a list of Advanced settings. Ensure that Show preview handlers in preview pane has a check next to it in order for the preview pane to display.
Ensure Thumbnails Are Enabled Open File Explorer. Click on three horizontal dots at the right end of the ribbon tabs and then choose Options from the menu. In the Folder Options window, uncheck the box beside Always show icons, never thumbnails (if its checked). Click Apply and hit Ok.
