Depending on the version of Word or Outlook youre using, you can insert a variety of objects (such as PDF files, Excel charts or worksheets, or PowerPoint presentations) into a Word document or an email message by linking or embedding them. To insert an object, click Object on the Insert tab.
Earlier versions of Access used a technology called Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) to store images and documents. By default, OLE created a bitmap equivalent of the image or document. Those bitmap files could become quite large as much as 10 times larger than the original file.
OLE (Object Linking Embedding) is a way to share data between applications and give access to the data produced by application on Windows, rather than using them independently. One example is embedding graphs, equations, pictures, and even sound data in the documents.
OLE is a mechanism that allows users to create and edit documents containing items or objects created by multiple applications. OLE was originally an acronym for Object Linking and Embedding.
To insert an embedded OLE object Click the Design tab. On the Insert menu, click OLE Object. Select Create From File. Click Browse and choose a bitmap file (BMP). Click Open to return to the Insert Object dialog box. Click OK to return to the report. Place the object in your report.
Go to Insert - OLE Object and choose the Word document or PDF file that you need to insert in Crystal Reports.
1. In general, an embedded object is a separate file not created in the program that is placed into the program. For example, when using a word processor program, you paste a movie clip into the word processor document; this would be considered an embedded object.
Embed a file To insert a copy of your file into another, embed it. Select Insert Object. Select Create from File. Select Browse and go to the file you want to use.
At the base level of a standard form, you can attach OLE objects using the OLE Objects button on the Links toolbar. Menu bars and toolbars appear on all standard forms.
How to Convert Word to PDF With Embedded Links Open the desired Word document in Microsoft Word and click on the File menu heading at the top-left corner of the menu bar. Click on the drop-down menu next to Save As Type and choose PDF from the list of file types.
