One to three hyperlinks should be included in the body section of every release. The links should go back to your site and provide more information on the topic. Why is that the best practice? You dont want to overwhelm people with links, but you want to give them more information if they want it.
An embedded link is a link that does not show the exact URL to the web page. What you embed or put inside, is the URL. In practice, it could look like this: You can visit the Publuu website here. The word here in our example is an embedded link that leads to our main website.
The Prefer Embedded option stores the file in your document; Prefer Linked does not embed but maintains a link to the file, still in its original location.
So, to sum it up, a URL is a address that points to a specific resource on the internet, while an embed code is a snippet of code that you can use to include content from another website on your own webpage.
