Users should upload their LoR using their own AAMC account, even if they are a designee for an author. You can create an AAMC account by using the Create AAMC Account button when attempting to sign into LoRP.
[I]t is a best practice to leave references off your resume. Unless specifically requested, references do not belong on a resume. It is almost never a good idea to include them. As a rule of thumb, you dont need to include references in your resume.
When you require a letter of recommendation in a timely manner or if your supervisor is too busy to write it, you can write a self-recommendation and have it approved or signed at a later time. A self-recommendation may also help when you feel you possess a greater understanding of your strengths than your recommender.
Most job applications in industry (rather than academia) do not use reference letters at all. I would never attach a reference letter unless asked for one specifically. However, most jobs do ask for references, which is a list of people (around 3) that they can contact to ask about you.
But when it comes time to choose, many students are unsure of the best option. Generally speaking, waiving your right to view your letters of recommendation is ideal. While you can retain the right to view them, many admissions officers consider waiving the right as more honest.
Students generally dont submit their own letters of recommendation. Teachers, counselors and other recommenders usually send them in electronically via whichever application platform a student is using, such as the Common App.
