The PI behavioral assessment measures the amount and intensity of four key behavioral drives to help predict and understand workplace behavior: Dominance, Extraversion, Patience, and Formality. We refer to each of these key behavioral drives as factors. We all have some amount of each factor.
What is the average cognitive score? The average cognitive Scaled Score is 250, which translates to a raw score of 20. This average score was established during assessment development, using whats called a Reference Group. That group, on average, scored 19.8 points out of a possible 50, which translates to 250.
Behavioral assessment is a systematic process of evaluating and measuring an individuals behaviors, competencies, and traits to assess their suitability for a specific role. It involves observing and analyzing how candidates respond to various situational scenarios to predict their future job performance.
The Four Types: To begin, its important that we review the four behavioral traits that are analyzed after taking the PI. These four traits include Dominance or the (A) drive , Extraversion also known as the (B) drive, Patience the (C) drive, and Formality the (D) drive.

Each Reference Profile belongs to one of four groups: Analytical, Social, Stabilizing, or Persistent. While Reference Profiles are very specific, the groups represent broad categories of workplace behavior.
After several years of refining, Arnold Daniels created the Predictive Index Behavioral Assessment (BA). It was specifically designed to measure four motivating needs, or drives, that had the biggest effect on workplace behaviors: Dominance, Extraversion, Patience, and Formality.
Behavioral assessment evaluations come in many forms including interviews, questionnaires, and observations. Interviews provide an opportunity for an open-ended response from people who witness or experience challenging behavior. Questionnaires are a standard used to identify a specific set of behaviors.
