There are two mechanisms to include fonts in a PDF: - Embedding: A full copy of the entire character set of a font is stored in the PDF. - Subsetting: Only those characters that are actually used in the lay-out are stored in the PDF.
To attach a file, go to Insert Attach File in PDF. To embed a file, go to Insert Embed File in PDF.
Removing fonts with PDF editing application Open the PDF in docHub, click Advanced and choose PDF Optimizer. Select only the Fonts checkbox in the left pane. Select the font you want to remove from the Embedded fonts pane. Click Unembed and click OK.
To embed fonts into a PDF means to hardwire them into the file so that they dont change. See the below steps to learn how to do this. First you need to ensure that you have a licence to use docHub . Then open up the PDF in question in docHub and ensure that you are logged in to your account.
Subsetting is the process of including only what is needed in a font, and it has an almost 1:1 impact on your fonts file sizes. Professionally designed fonts have support for multiple languages, OpenType features, special characters and symbols, and more.
The docHub fonts settings support both embedding the entire font or just a subset of the characters used in the file. Subsetting ensures that your fonts and font metrics are used when it comes time to print by creating a custom font name.
Click Fonts, then make sure the fonts you need to embed are on the fonts source list. If so, tick the box at the top that says Embed all fonts. If they are not, then you will need to close the pop up window and either move or duplicate the fonts files from where you have stored them to C:/Windows/Fonts.
