yeah hi this is Stuart Alexander from impact makers radio and in this video Im going to show you how to insert special characters and symbols inside of a Google document now once you have your Google document open this is a very simple process you simply go to insert select special characters and then in the middle tab select symbol from the list of options at the top now here you can see we have a whole host of different symbols now to find the trademark symbol we simply go over here to the Search tab and then youre going to start writing in the word trademark so TR TR a and its already showed you here TM hover your mouse over it click it and it inserts it into your document and then you can obviously resize it to the size that you want Ive made it quite big just for the purposes of this demonstration so lets go ahead and find the registered sign so the same process again were just going to type in the word register theyll start searching for that word and just after typing in

Its recommended that the registered trademark symbol be used in connection with all registered trademarks. It should either be placed to the lower right (subscript) or to the upper right (superscript) of the actual mark. The COCA-COLA example below illustrates a subscript placement.
To insert the trademark symbol, press Ctrl+Alt+T. To insert the registered trademark symbol, press Ctrl+Alt+R.

There is some flexibility as to how and where to use the TM, SM, or symbol. Typically, it is placed in the upper right-hand corner, in the lower right-hand corner, or level with the mark or logo itselfeach is an acceptable way of displaying the relevant symbol.
If your mark covers both goods and services, use TM. The federal registration symbol, , is only for marks registered with the USPTO. Dont fool around with this. If your mark is not registered with the USPTO then do not use it next to your mark.
Using the TM symbol isnt as important or regulated as using the registered symbol on your companys mark. Because TM doesnt have any legal meaning, you dont actually have to use it unless you want to.
