The tag defines the title of a creative work (e.g. a book, a poem, a song, a movie, a painting, a sculpture, etc.). Note: A persons name is not the title of a work. The text in the element usually renders in italic.
Short quotations can be created using the tag, while long quotations can be created using the tag.
In HTML the co-called HTML character codes can be used as a part of text inside quotes in attribute. Its quot; for double quotes and apos; for single quote / apostrophe.
Just add a div with the class block-quote and put your text inside that. You can use the blockquote tag which indents it automatically, you can also use CSS to style it using text-align and font-style, or you could add padding to it.
Single quote marks can be included within the attribute value when the value is delimited by double quote marks, and vice versa. Authors may also use numeric character references to represent double quotes (#34;) and single quotes (#39;). For double quotes authors can also use the character entity reference quot;.
The HTML element indicates that the enclosed text is a short inline quotation. Most modern browsers implement this by surrounding the text in quotation marks. This element is intended for short quotations that dont require paragraph breaks; for long quotations use the element.
We need to use a special set of characters called an escape string. Instead of using a single quote you replace this with a special set of characters. The browser will display the special set of characters as a single quote. For example, this strange set of characters #39; is the same as using a single quote.
There are three strategies you can use to embed quotations: set off quotations, build in quotations, or introduce quotations with a colon. Set-off quotations are set off from the sentence with a comma. Capitalize the first word of the quote. Notice the signal phrases (in bold print) used in the following examples.
