hi everyone Simon Keeling here at weather school and today I want to talk to you all about troughs at weather school we spend quite a bit of time discussing troughs theyamp;#39;re the lines marked on the charts just a solid black lunch you can see some on this chart just west of Scotland and another one just to the south of Ireland now when you see troughs I want you to think showers because thatamp;#39;s what they are too concentrated area of convection that means cumulus clouds theyamp;#39;re the fluffy stuff and what happens is that these cumulus clouds grouped together you get some embedded cumulonimbus in there as well and you get definite lines of showers developing now you can see those on the radar picture here the chart that we looked at was for 6 a.m. in the morning these charts now are going through from 6 a.m. through to 9 a.m. and you can see the lines of showers coming into western Scotland also across Western and southwestern parts of Wales and into the southwest of E
