The CSV file format is one type of delimiter-separated file format. Delimiters frequently used include the comma, tab, space, and semicolon. Delimiter-separated files are often given a .csv extension even when the field separator is not a comma.
Because of this, it is important that when creating a CSV file, each value should only be separated by a comma without any unwanted whitespace before or after the commas, since they will not be removed automatically.
To change your default CSV setting in Windows: Open the Windows Start Menu and click Control Panel. Open the Regional and Language Options dialog box. Click the Regional Options tab. Click Customize/Additional settings (Windows 10) Type a comma into the List separator box (,) Click OK twice to confirm the change.
Columns are delimited by spaces; with multiple leading spaces used to make each column a fixed number of characters wide.
Here are the rules for creating CSV files: Separate data fields with a delimiter, usually a comma. Keep each record on a separate line. Do not follow the last record in a file with a carriage return. In the first line of the file, include a header with a list of the column names in the file.
A true CSV file would not contain spaces as you have shown them, because the delimiter (separator) is only a comma. In other words, if you did want to achieve the result that your script yields, this is exactly how you would achieve it.
