In Microsoft Excel, the Object Insert option allows a user to insert an external object into a worksheet. Embedding generally means inserting an object from another software (Word, PDF, etc.) into an Excel worksheet.
When Object Window opens, (1) click on Create New, from the drop-down menu (2) choose the file you want to embed. If you want to display this object as an icon (3) choose Display as icon option and when you are done (4) click OK.
Navigate to the Canvas page that you will embed the file, click edit, then click the embed button (which looks like a cloud). Enter the embed code in the popup window and click submit, then save your Canvas page.

You will be taken to a code editor window where you can paste the Google Sheets iframe code. This is the same code from the previous section. Paste the code on the page where you wish to embed it.
Open your Google Document (or other Google item). Under the File menu, click Publish to the Web. Copy the iframe code. On the page you want the Google Doc embedded, click on Source Code button from the WYSIWYG editor to open the HTML editor.
