To draw a closed shape, create a Polygon element and use its Points property to specify the vertices of a shape. A line is automatically drawn that connects the first and last points. Finally, specify a Fill, a Stroke, or both.
The key difference is that, unlike with Polygon, a Polyline does not necessarily describe a closed shape. The series of co-ordinates specified for the Points property are joined together to form a continuous line but the final point is not connected to the first.
To add a shape, click Insert, click Shapes, select a shape, and then click and drag to draw the shape. After you add one or more shapes, you can add text, bullets, and numbering to them, and you can change their fill, outline, and other effects on the Format tab.
Click the shapes icon in the Insert tab and choose the shape you wish to draw in the corresponding menu. Then the cursor will change into a cross and you can draw the desired shape.

To draw a polygon, follow these steps: Select the Polygon tool. Click in the drawing area to place the polygons center point. (Optional) By default, polygons have 5 sides. Move the cursor in or out from the center point to size the polygon and click to finish the shape.
To draw a rectangle, create a Rectangle element and specify its Width and Height. To paint the inside of the rectangle, set its Fill. To give the rectangle an outline, use its Stroke and StrokeThickness properties. To give the rectangle rounded corners, specify the optional RadiusX and RadiusY properties.
