Hi everyone, Steve Patterson here from Photoshop Essentials. In this video, I show you how easy it is to fill a shape with an image in Photoshop. This is an update to my original video from way back in 2017. And this time, I show you a couple of ways to speed things up, including a faster way to draw your shape, and how to open your image as a layer in the same document as your shape. And at the end, Ill show you how to remove the background and how to save the file so you can add your shape and the image inside it to any background you like. To follow along, youll want to be using Photoshop 2022 or later. Lets get started! Well start by creating a new document. If youre on the Home Screen, click the New file button. Or you can go up to the File menu and choose New. Either way opens the New Document dialog box. For this tutorial, Ill create a square-shaped document by setting both the width and the height to 2000 pixels. Ill set the Resolution to 300 pixels per inch, and Ill le

You can add clouds to an image to create an interesting atmospheric effect and replace a plain blue sky. Learning how to add clouds using Photoshop is easy and will allow you to create the exact mood youre looking for in your pics.
Step 1: Select the Ellipse Tool (keyboard shortcut L ) from the toolbar and hold the Shift key to draw a circle. Step 2: Make several copies of the circle. You can copy and paste or hold the Option key and drag it to duplicate. Step 3: Resize and reposition the circles to make the cloud shape you want.
To copy clouds, go to select Color Range and click on the white of the clouds. Then create a New Layer and fill the selection with white. This will make a cloud with a Transparent Background that you can move around the image. Duplicate this layer and move it to cover the original shape if needed.
To move the image inside the shape, click anywhere inside the Free Transform box and drag the image into position. Using Free Transform to resize and move the image inside the shape. The image now fits better within the shape.
Go to Edit Define Custom Shape. Enter a name for your shape into the Shape Name dialog box. Click OK when youre done to exit out of the dialog box, and your Custom Shape is now ready for action! You can close out of your Photoshop document at this point since were done creating and saving our shape.

How to place an image inside a shape Step 1: Open the image. Step 2: Open the Shapes panel. Step 3: Drag a shape onto the image. Step 4: Move and resize the shape with Free Transform. Step 5: Open the Paths panel. Step 6: Make a copy of the shapes path. Step 7: Delete the shape layer.
