Hi. My name is Rebecca, and in todays lesson, were going to talk about something called: Embedded Questions. Okay? Now, many English learners have a difficult time when theyre framing questions, because you have to change the word order. But embedded questions actually require you to change the order back again, so they can be even more confusing, unless you understand the principle. So, please make sure you pay attention to this one. A lot of English students dont recognize that theyre making a mistake because theyve taken so much trouble to learn the regular way of asking questions, that they dont realize that when you have an embedded question, you need to change that order all over again. Okay? So, what is an embedded question? An embedded question is not a question that you ask somebody in bed. An embedded question is a question that is found inside another question, or inside a sentence or statement. All right? So thats enough theory for now. Lets look at the actual r

Word embedding in NLP is an important term that is used for representing words for text analysis in the form of real-valued vectors. It is an advancement in NLP that has improved the ability of computers to understand text-based content in a better way.
Embedding is the process of converting high-dimensional data to low-dimensional data in the form of a vector in such a way that the two are semantically similar. In its literal sense, “embedding” refers to an extract (portion) of anything.
Thus by using word embeddings, words that are close in meaning are grouped near to one another in vector space. For example, while representing a word such as frog, the nearest neighbour of a frog would be frogs, toads, Litoria.

Word embedding and document embedding It means that each word is mapped to the vector of real numbers that represent the word. Embedding models are mostly based on neural networks. Document embedding is usually computed from the word embeddings in two steps.
So in short, a conextualized word embedding represents a word in a context, whereas a sentence encoding represents a whole sentence.
We explained the cross-encoder architecture for sentence similarity with BERT. SBERT is similar but drops the final classification head, and processes one sentence at a time. SBERT then uses mean pooling on the final output layer to produce a sentence embedding.
Word embedding — the mapping of words into numerical vector spaces — has proved to be an incredibly important method for natural language processing (NLP) tasks in recent years, enabling various machine learning models that rely on vector representation as input to enjoy richer representations of text input.
SentenceTransformers is a Python framework for state-of-the-art sentence, text and image embeddings. The initial work is described in our paper Sentence-BERT: Sentence Embeddings using Siamese BERT-Networks. You can use this framework to compute sentence / text embeddings for more than 100 languages.
In natural language processing (NLP), a word embedding is a representation of a word. The embedding is used in text analysis. Typically the representation is a real-valued vector that encodes the meaning of the word in such a way that words that are closer in the vector space are expected to be similar in meaning.
