First of all, its important to understand that the title on your flight ticket does not determine your immigration status or your gender identity. Airlines use titles like Mr. or Ms. as a matter of courtesy and convention, but they do not have any legal significance.
Ms or Mrs is to indicate the gender of the passenger. While to indicate a male passenger Mr is not a must but generally it is given while making a booking. There are also codes to know children which is CHD for child, INF for infants.
There is no requirement to append MR, MRS, MS or similar to the name on a ticket, although it still does occur sometimes. Both the versions with and without the title are completely valid. In this case the BA website is seemingly attempting to parse your name, and simply displaying it incorrectly.
If your name has been misspelled on your flight ticket then you should endeavor to call the airline you are flying with or Alternative Airlines to correct the spelling mistake as soon as possible. You may not be able to fly if the name on your ticket does not match the name in your passport.
If you have erroneously added the wrong prefix, the airline will let you modify the prefix. Prefix changes are fairly simple and dont incur any repercussions. Stop fretting if you discovered the prefix error at the last minute. To remedy the issue, visit the airports ticket counter.
Generally it really doesnt matter what the title on a ticket is. I have definitely travelled on a ticket issued in the wrong title (it was either Mrs or Mr, neither of which I am) and its not something theyre bothered with as long as the names match!
instead of Ms. matter on a flight ticket? No, it does not matter at all.
This is a standard practice and will not cause any problems, as long as the gender implied by the title matches your ID. Now, if your ticket says MS but your passport (or other form of ID you will use at the airport) says you are male, that could cause a problem, and you should call the airline to sort it out.
