Higher DPI is typically better for smaller images like negatives or slides and is kind of overkill. 600 to 2400 DPI is a good size for almost every scan and future print. We know youll be happy with those sizes.
Most businesses consider 600dpi and higher to be a high-resolution image or print. High-resolution images require more memory to store and can take longer to scan.
600 DPI printing simply means that the printer compresses 600 dots horizontally as well as 600 dots vertically for every square inch of the card. This allows users to print ultra-high resolution pictures, micro-text, OCR codes, and 1D 2D barcodes.
It depends, in fact, on what you are printing and what material is used. A higher resolution might be needed for glossy photos or images with lots of details that need to be crisp. Then 600 DPI could be a better option. At the same time, a lower value, for example, 100 dots per inch, should be enough for a poster.

A 1200 DPI represents that there would be 1200 dots in a square inch of print. This is doubled by 600 dpi which denotes the higher print quality of a document.

Recommended minimum resolution for printing is 300 dpi; computer monitors generally have a display setting of 72 dpi. If we indicate that some of your images have low resolution, they may not look bad on your monitor but will likely print blurry or jagged.
