Embedded objects become part of the Word file or email message and, after they are inserted, they are no longer connected to any source file. Linked objects can be updated if the source file is modified. Linked data is stored in the source file.
To insert a copy of your file into another, embed or link to it. Go to Insert Object. Select Create from File. Select Browse and choose the file you want to use. Select Insert. Choose Display as icon to embed, or Link to file for a link. Select OK.
Please note that an embed link is different that copying and pasting a URL! An embed link will allow you to show the spreadsheet youve created in a different source. When changes are needed, the editing of the spreadsheet will occur in your source document.
The embed code can be put on a webpage directly. The link can be shared to others to use in a browser, put as the src for an iframe, or used with other products that use urls to embed content, like a web page viewer in SharePoint.
Link or Embed a file To insert a copy of your file into another, embed or link to it. Go to Insert Object. Select Create from File. Select Browse and choose the file you want to use. Select Insert.
Using linked data allows you to keep the file size to a minimum. Embedded data captures a snapshot of the final data table in the analysis file, so that the analysis file is self-contained with data and possible to use offline.
Linking refers to inserting a reference to a file in another location, while embedding refers to inserting the actual file in the document. An example of linking is inserting a chart from an Excel file into a PowerPoint presentation, while an example of embedding is inserting an image into a Word document.
d. : to insert (a media file, such as a graphic, video, or audio clip) into a computer document (as on a website or in an email) Marketers embed advertisements in subscription mailing-list messages to docHub target audiences.
