Encrypt Word files using Microsoft Word in Mac OS X With your document open, open up the Review menu. Click on Protect document. Enter your desired passphrase in the Password to open field. You are now prompted to confirm your passphrase. Click OK once more to finish the setup.
Open your document in Word, and go to File. Click on Info and Protect Document. In the dropdown, choose Encrypt with Password. You can also set passwords for opening and/or modifying the document.
Hardcoded passwords, also often referred to as embedded credentials, are plain text passwords or other secrets in source code. Password hardcoding refers to the practice of embedding plain text (non-encrypted) passwords and other secrets (SSH Keys, DevOps secrets, etc.) into the source code.
