Hi, this is Deborah with Legal Office Guru, and today were going to talk about how to insert the current paragraph number inside the text of your paragraph, as opposed to where your automatic paragraph numbering already puts it at the beginning of the paragraph. I had a reader contact me recently who does a lot of litigation defense work, and she has to do something that I do a lot of, too: answering Complaints. And if youve ever drafted an Answer to a Complaint, youve probably inserted a reference to the paragraph number over and over, and Im betting your text looked a lot like the example above. What she wanted to know was whether she could automate this so that when the document was edited, she didnt have to go back and correct the paragraph number references in all the paragraphs.
