hello again today we are learning how to add a legend to a map that is almost done we are learning how to do that in an earlier video we did a how to create a legend but there was a bit of not adding the legend to the layout that will be printed out and so that is what we want to do now so if youamp;#39;ve not been able to watch how to create a legend you can look at previous videos and look at how you create a legend and that can simply be done by going to how to maps legend and then follow the processes but now that we have the map ready and the legend is ready how do we add it so you go to layout and then new layout and then a blank template and then you choose the paper size maybe you want it as a whatever me i want it as e3 and as a landscape let me see this as a landscape letamp;#39;s do it like that you click ok and now that you set up your people all you have to do is go to map we have the map already done the legend is done so you just go to map click on this one bec

Click the chart, and then click the Chart Design tab. Click Add Chart Element Legend. To change the position of the legend, choose Right, Top, Left, or Bottom. To change the format of the legend, click More Legend Options, and then make the format changes that you want.
Show and hide legend in the Contents pane Open the map with the layer that contains a legend. Click Details and click Contents. By default, the legend appears under the layer name. Click Hide Legend. to hide it in the Contents pane. Click Show Legend. to show the legend in the Contents pane.
To view a maps legend, do the following: In Map Viewer, find and open the map with the legend you want to view. On the Contents (dark) toolbar, click Legend . The legend appears in a new pane and displays information about each layer that is visible at the current map scale. Not all layers contain legend information.
A legend is used to identify data in visualizations by its color, size, or other distinguishing features. Simply connect one or more data visualizations to a legend and they will automatically display a table of symbols and descriptions to help users understand what is being displayed.
You cant add a legend directly to your map, it must be added to a layout. If there is no layout view active the legend buttons will be greyed out.
Add a legend Open a layout with at least one map frame. Select the map frame in the Contents pane. Optionally, expand the map in the Contents pane to select a subset of layers. On the Insert tab, in the Map Surrounds group, click the Legend button . On the layout view, click and drag to create the legend.
Add a chart legend Click the chart. Click Chart Elements. next to the table. Select the Legend check box. The chart now has a visible legend.
A legend can only be added to a layout view. Select the map frame in the Contents pane. Optionally, expand the map in the Contents pane to select a subset of layers. If no layers are selected, a legend is added containing all applicable layers from the map contained in the default map frame.
