How do I enable the search option in a PDF file?

Use the Find command to search a PDF. Press Ctrl+F if youre using a Windows computer device, or press Command+F if youre using a Mac computer. Then, you can enter the word or text you want to locate in the Find dialog box, which will allow you to select Next or Previous to move through the search results.

How do I create a searchable table of contents in PDF?

To include a table of contents in a PDF Open the document in the Document Editor. From the Format menu, select Document Properties. Click Table of Contents. Select the Include Table of Contents check box. If the document contains multiple layouts, the Before layout drop-down list is available.

How do you use embedded index?

Embed an index Open the file and select Advanced Processing Process Index. To create an embedded index for the active PDF document, click Create. To update an embedded index after changes have been made in the PDF file, click Update. To remove an embedded index from the currently opened PDF file, click Remove.

How to enable the embedded index in a PDF for searching?

Why cant I search within a PDF?

One of the main reasons why PDFs are not searchable is that they dont include any text. The PDF may be a scanned document or just an image-based document. If thats the case, then there is no searchable text. You can read the text within the image-based document, but the PDF tool cannot.
