The purpose of a DTD is to define the legal building blocks of an XML document. It defines the document structure with a list of legal elements. A DTD can be declared inline in your XML document, or as an external reference.
The unofficial tag is used to embed XML data within HTML. XML data can be embedded directly in an HTML page like this:
Description. Under XML 1.0, an ID is a unique identifier to aid in processing. You can annotate an element uniquely with an attribute of type ID, as in id=i-35867 (IDs cant start with a number), which often assumes an associated DTD containing the attribute-list declaration .
To insert an element from a schema or DTD: Right-click the XML map component after which you want to insert the element and select Insert Element from schema/dtd, or if you want the element to be the first element in the XML file format, right-click the XML File icon and select Create Sub Element from schema/dtd.
A DTD is associated with an XML document via a Document Type Declaration, which is a tag that appears near the start of the XML document. The declaration establishes that the document is an instance of the type defined by the referenced DTD. These declarations within an XML document can be either internal or external.
To validate an XML file against a DTD: Set the XmlReaderSettings. DtdProcessing property to DtdProcessing. Set the XmlReaderSettings. If the DTD is an external file stored on a network resource that requires authentication, pass an XmlResolver object with the necessary credentials to the Create method.
Embed Images in XML or JSON First, click the Insert / Encoded External File command, which is is available in Text View and Grid View for XML documents, and Text View for JSON files. Browse to select the file to embed, and then choose either Base 16 or Base 64 encoding.
