Just put a backslash before % such as to write 70% we have to use 70\% .
The ampersand can be input in LaTeX with \ , otherwise it is used as an alignment character in tabular-like environments e.g., {tables}, {align}.
\input and \include are two commonly used commands for inserting content into LaTeX. There are several reasons why we need to insert do that: when working on a large document, inserting content from various files makes it easier to identify errors and debug our LaTeX code.
If you simply want the character to be printed just as any other letter, include a \ in front of the character. For example, \$ will produce $ in your output. The exception to the rule is the \ itself because \\ has its own special meaning. A \ is produced by typing $\backslash$ in your file.
Symbols shown in the Symbol Palette should only be inserted into your document when LaTeX is in math mode, which means they must be enclosed within special math markup: To put your equations in inline mode enclose it within the delimiters: \( \) or $ $ .
Text. Writing text in a LaTeX document is easy. Once you are inside the body of the document, as described in the Document Structure section of this page, all you have to do is start typing. When you compile the code LaTeX will take care of all the text formatting based on any commands and packages used.
The symbol on its own is used as part of a code in LaTeX. To enter and use this symbol as a character, simply use the \ command.
The eqnarray environment lets you align equations so that, for example, all of the equals signs = line up. To do this, put ampersand signs around the text you want LaTeX to align, e.g. Each equation can be labelled separately, just put the label command after the relevant equation.
