It helps the writer to express emotion (good or bad) through writing. An exclamation point is used to express that a sentence should be read as though someone were crying out, yelling, shouting, screaming, or making some type of loud remark. Lets take a look at a sentence: Thereamp;#39;s a roach in the bathroom. We notice that there is a period at the end of the sentence, so the sentence should be read in a rather causal voice. Thereamp;#39;s a roach in the bathroom. However, if there were an exclamation point at the end of the sentence then we would know to read it in a much louder voice. But something that is important when we think through how exactly it is meant to be read, is context. What is an exclamation point for? Periods go at the end of declarative sentences, question marks go at the end of interrogative sentences, and exclamation points go at the end of exclamatory sentences. An exclamatory sentence is one that expresses a strong or forceful emotion, such as anger, surprise, or joy.
Use Insert Special character Font Open Symbol and you should find it.
You can enter unicode codepoints by pressing Ctrl-Shift-u and then the codepoint you want to use. So if you type Ctrl-Shift-u 0 1 8 8 , you will see an underlined u0188 and then press enter and you will see ƈ . Alternatively, you may want to check out the compose key, which will probably let you type faster.
This indicator lets you know that theres a Critical Warning Message that you need to read as soon as possible, but it doesnt actually indicate a specific problem. Really, the triangle with an exclamation point is a catch-all warning light, designed to alert you to issues that your other lights wont catch!
