DocHub enables users to embed evidence in WRI electronically

Follow the steps to embed evidence in WRI files online:

  1. Click New Document to upload your WRI to your DocHub profile.
  2. View your file in the online editor by clicking Open next to its name. If you prefer, click on your file instead.
  3. embed evidence in WRI and proceed with more changes: add a legally-binding eSignature, add extra pages, type and erase text, and use any tool you need from the upper toolbar.
  4. Use the dropdown menu at the very right-hand top corner to email, download, or print your file and send out it for signature.

You can present your evidence in two different ways: direct quote or paraphrase. A direct quote comes from the text, word-for-word. You want to embed these quotes, so work them into a sentence instead of simply dropping them into your essay. You also dont want these quotes to be too long.
These words and phrases are directly copied from the original text. You can copy selected words and phrases from an authors work if you put quotation marks around them. These embedded quotations are called evidence because they illustrate or prove a statement you make about the authors writing. Quote or paraphrase. When using a direct quote, copy down the exact words from a sentence. Surround a direct quotation with quotation marks. To paraphrase is to put something written or spoken by someone else into your own words. You dont change the meaning of what the other person wrote or said, just the wording.
The goal is to seamlessly weave this information into your own writing while also giving credit where it is due and avoiding plagiarism. There are three strategies you can use to embed quotations: set off quotations, build in quotations, or introduce quotations with a colon. Use an argument and introduce your evidence by mentioning the name of the writer and the respective work of his. Citing evidence should never begin with a quote.
