Work the mechanism of the tool to pull the dent out until its removed.
Start by applying hot air to the dented area. As the fender gets hotter, it will expand in size and the dent will adjust ingly. Next, spray compressed air on the heated fender to cool down and shrink the body panel. The dents will contract alongside the fender.
The idea is to splash hot/boiling water to loosen up the metal and then use the plunger to pull out the dent with a slight pull and strength. This works effectively well for small to medium-sized dents, as larger dents wont be able to pop-back with just a plunger.
If your dent is in a plastic surface like a front or rear bumper cover and you can get to its inside surface, you can pour boiling water over the area to soften it up, then push the dent out from the inside.
Will the Dent Pop Out on Its Own? No, a dent will not pop out on its own. In some very rare cases, extreme heat can affect the shape of a dent, but generally, once the dent is there, it is permanent.
Heat and Cold First, try heating the dented area with a heat gun or hair dryer for several minutes. Keep the heat source moving so the surface heats even-ly. Frequently, this alone is enough to remove the dent. If it isnt, immediately apply something very cold to the dent while its still hot.
Use a plunger. If a dent is not too big, it can easily be removed with a plunger. All you have to do is pour some water over the plunger as well as the dent. Start pushing the plunger up and down. Repeat this a few times until the dent pops out.
First, heat the dent with the hairdryer approximately six inches away for about 30 seconds. Then cover the dent with a piece of aluminum foil and rub dry ice over it. The rapid change from hot to cold should make the dent pop out within a minute or so. Another temperature trick involves boiling water.
Bring a pot of water to a boil and take it out to your vehicle. Slowly pour the hot water over the dent so it heats up the panel and makes it more malleable. After that, spray the area with compressed air to cool it down quickly. If youre lucky, the dent will pop right out.
