hi welcome my name is Alan Simpson this is a short course on creating visitor comments for your site using firebase Im gonna call them casual because users dont have to log in or anything they can just type their name type in whatever text they want and then click Submit and it shows up as a comment and thats it so you know they dont have to be a member they dont have to log in or anything so you know if thats not what you want obviously this isnt a great way to do it but if thats what youre looking for super casual where anybody can just throw in a message real quick then this would be a good solution for you its all HTML CSS JavaScript on firebase so its all free and if you know a little HTML CSS and JavaScript that should be enough for you to get going with it well put in a little simple validation where they cant leave the name blank or they cant leave the comment blank so you dont get blanks in there all the time all right so the first step is to go create the datab

In HTML, a comment is a section of text that is not processed by the web browser. Comments are enclosed in tags. These tags tell the browser that the text inside them is a comment and should not be rendered on the front end.
To create a comment, call the POST /comments API with the message of the comment, as well as the ID of the file to leave the comment on. A comments message can also mentions users using the @ sign. To do so, add the string @[userid:name] anywhere within the message.
To comment out HTML code, use the less than symbol ( ) followed by an exclamation mark ( ! ), 2 hyphens ( -- ), the comment, 2 hyphens again ( -- ), and greater than symbol ( ). And there you have it now you can comment your HTML code correctly and safely.
