The command syntax of a standard ACL is as follows: router(config)#access-list access-list-number {permit | deny} {source [source-wildcard] | host hostname | any}
To include a comment for IPv4 numbered standard or extended ACLs, use the access-list access-listnumber remark remark global configuration command. To remove the remark, use the no form of this command.
All text on a line that follows to the right of // (two forward slashes) will be considered a comment and will not be executed when the script is run. Alternatively, you can enclose a section of code with /* and */. You can also insert comments to the script using the Rem statement.
A single-line comment starts with hashtag symbol with no white spaces (#) and lasts till the end of the line. If the comment exceeds one line then put a hashtag on the next line and continue the comment. The shell script is commented out prefixing # character for single-line comment.

An access list remark is an optional remark before or after an access list entry that describes the entry so that you do not have to interpret the purpose of the entry. Each remark is limited to 100 characters in length. The remark can go before or after a permit or deny statement.
