There are certain things which you cannot authorize your attorney(s) to do. These include, for example, designating beneficiaries for your registered retirement savings plan (RRSP), registered retirement income fund (RRIF), tax-free savings account (TFSA) or insurance policies and executing a Will on your behalf.
Joint accounts are bank accounts in which two or more people have ownership rights over the same account. These rights include the right for all account holders to deposit, withdraw, or deal with the funds in the account, no matter who puts the money into the account.
Joint bank accounts Couples may also have joint bank or building society accounts. If one dies, all the money will go to the surviving partner without the need for probate or letters of administration.
