hey guys a quick video here on how to add a background to text so theres a number of different formatting options available on canva uh none of those its going to allow you to put a background behind the text so even here in the effects options you can do shadow you can do lift you can do holo but there is no option to color the text box or to add a background behind the text so were going to do that manually but the good news is its really easy to do so what youre going to do is youre going to click just on the empty canvas here so dont have any of your elements selected and then push r key on your keyboard which adds a rectangle the other thing you can do is you can go into the elements tab and then go into lines and shapes and scroll down until you find the square and then add that on its the same thing as pushing the r key so once youve done that were going to resize it down to be the appropriate size to serve as the background for your text and uh there you go so just d
