hi in this video weamp;#39;re gonna take a look at where to put access control lists first of all the standard rule is that we can only have one access control list per interface per Direction inbound or outbound and per protocol like ipv4 or ipv6 okay that said where do we place an access control list well remember that extended access control lists give us a lot more flexibility because we can filter based not only on source IP address but destination IP address so we can actually filter traffic much closer to the source not wasting bandwidth having the packet travel a long ways across our network or across multiple networks before dropping the packet if we can get it if we can drop it if we can filter that traffic as close to the source as possible then we donamp;#39;t waste as much bandwidth source or standard access control lists excuse me filter based just on source IP address so in this case we donamp;#39;t have much choice but we have to get we have to put it as close to the

A network access control list (ACL) is made up of rules that either allow access to a computer environment or deny it. In a way, an ACL is like a guest list at an exclusive club. Only those on the list are allowed in the doors.
An Access Control List (ACL) contains metadata that specifies who is allowed to view and modify a document. Each item in a repository has an associated ACL that is updated whenever a user changes the permissions applied to the item.
The http-acl command associates an ACL (access control list) with the interoperability test service over HTTP. The ACL allows or denies access to this service based on the IP address of the client. When attached to a service, the default for an ACL is to deny all access. To deny access to select IP addresses only.
Each ACL has one or more access control entries (ACEs) consisting of the name of a user or group of users. The user can also be a role name, such as programmer or tester. For each of these users, groups or roles, the access privileges are stated in a string of bits called an access mask.
Access Control List Examples. The most common examples of Access Control List include web servers, DNS servers, and remote access or VPN systems. The internal router of a DMZ contains stricter ACLs to protect the internal network from more specific attacks.
Organizations can use access control lists (ACL) to secure data. One of the major reasons to use access control lists is to restrict unauthorized users from accessing business-sensitive information. It can also be used to control network traffic by limiting the number of users accessing files, systems, and information.
Procedure There are two ways to display the Add to Access List dialog: Display the access list and click Add in the table window. Specify this information: Select Refresh to make the new ID immediately active for all users. To add the same ID with different conditions to the access list, click OK.
Access Control List (ACL) refers to a specific set of rules used for filtering network traffic, especially in computer security settings. ACLs also allow specific system objects such as directories or file access to authorized users and denies access to unauthorized users.
