so im going to show you how i cleaned up these scanned recipes to create a cookbook i was given a number of very old handwritten recipes on yellowing paper with all sorts of food spatters and ink splatters and little things you want to not necessarily have on your recipe um and the person who ordered the cookbook wanted to keep all these handwritten notes that were in pencil the writing but none of the yellowing paper in the background or any of the lines or anything that wasnt just the handwritten words so this is how i did it so i scanned each recipe and im now in photoshop i have two layers im going to go to this bottom layer and add white all over that will be useful later on and here layer 0 is my scanned recipe the first thing im going to do is down here im going to use the levels in order to enhance the dark colors which is what im doing right now and brighten the light colors so you see im left with something less yellow with a slightly darker writing ill stop it pret
