when using a spreadsheet i highly recommend that you use the tab key to move to the right when you use the tab key to move to the right and hit return its going to return you to the next row where you started so notice that here i am in c3 and i use tab and then i push enter its going to take me back to now c4 to the next row to keep going heres the problem though as i start to type oh it overrode and ate what i had in the cell im gonna push escape right now because i didnt want to write over top of what i just had when you select a cell and you start typing it eats or ingests what is in the cell and starts over control z is one of your best friends when editing in a spreadsheet if you want to edit the text instead of replace the text you need to click on the text and double click to move into editing mode so notice im able to append text to this cell i can also come up to the function bar and up in the function bar is where i can edit the text if i come up to the function bar i

Here are the steps for Android phones. Open Settings and go to Apps Manage apps Sheets app. Tap on Clear data and select both options one at a time. Sign back in and check if you can type or edit in Sheets.
Select the columns you want to modify. Click the Format command on the Home tab. The format drop-down menu appears. Select Column Width.
Left-click the mouse button in the header between the columns or rows that you selected and drag the mouse to the left and right for columns and up and down for the rows to adjust the size of all of the selected columns at once. Thats it.
Request access to edit a Google Sheets file Open your Google Sheet and you will see a green View only button. This confirms that you dont have access to edit. Click on it and then Request edit access.

To protect a range, click Range. Click Set permissions or Change permissions. Choose how you want to limit editing: Click Save or Done.
How to make Google Sheets editable? Click on the Share button, on the top-right corner of your Google Sheets. As it is still a private file, you will be listed as the only user. You can select the Edit option from the drop-down menu, placed to the right of each user.
Open your Google Sheet and you will see a green View only button. This confirms that you dont have access to edit. Click on it and then Request edit access.
(Optional) To unprotect cells in a protected sheet: Check the Except certain cells box. Click Select data range. . In the spreadsheet, highlight the range you want to unprotect and click Ok.
