You can access the Edit Shapes tool by clicking on the icon in the toolbox, but you can also access it by pressing the Enter key when in the Shape Selection tool and having a shape selected that can be most efficiently edited with the edit shapes tool (right now, that's all shapes but text).
The Shape Tool is the main tool used for both creating precise curves, lines, and shapes, as well as editing or altering lines and shapes. The InfoBar, shown above, provides a wide range of controls as well as precise numeric control.
For text objects, the Shape tool places nodes on each character, allowing you to edit each character independently. You can use the node to drag a character to a different spot in the document, or click on a color swatch on the Color palette to change the fill.
In your Timeline, select the Shape Layer and Drop Down the Layer Menu. Open the Contents dropdown and select the Shape you wish to Edit. Adjust the Color, Stroke, and Stroke Color in the Top Menu Bar. Edit the order of the Shapes (from back to front) by changing the Shape Stack in the Layer Panel.
Select the Shape Selection tool , and then select the Show Bounding Box option. Do one of the following: Click the shape you want to transform, and then drag an anchor to transform the shape. Select the shape you want to transform, choose Image > Transform Shape, and then choose a transformation command.
If you can select a shape, but can't apply any changes to it, the shape might still be protected. If grey handle bars appear on the shape you select, the shape is locked against all changes. In this case you will have to unlock all shapes from selection.
