Today I want to show you how you could take a PowerPoint presentation and convert it into a video for YouTube or any other video service, whether it be Vimeo or anything else or Facebook or wherever you want to upload your video to, and as full disclosure, before we jump into this, I work at Microsoft as a full-time employee. All right well lets jump on the PC. Here I am on my desktop, and I have PowerPoint on my taskbar here. This is a PowerPoint that comes with Office 365. Its the latest and greatest version. However, if you have an older version of PowerPoint, you should also be able to do this, but I just cant guarantee that things will look the same. OK, well so I have this slide deck and what Id love to do is I want to add some narrations, some video on top, and then I want to package it all and upload it to YouTube as a video. So, how do I go about doing that? So, the first thing that were going to do is click on

Click Pause to temporarily stop the recording (Windows logo key+Shift+R). Click Record to resume recording (Windows logo key+Shift+R). Click Stop to end your recording (Windows logo key+Shift+Q) (shown below).
First, click on the video object on the slide, so the contextual Video Tools tabs appear at the top of your screen, then click on the Playback Tab.
You can only trim videos that you've inserted from your computer. You can see Trim a video, music clip, or sound clip in PowerPoint for more details. Here is my test screenshot for your reference, if I insert a video from my PC, the Trim Video feature will work normally.
Click the [Playback] tab > Locate the "Editing" group > Click [Trim Video]. Within the video, move the green slidebar to a new start location. Move the red slidebar to a new end position > Click [OK]. When finished, replay the trimmed video clip.
If you want to start from scratch, just right-click on a blank part of the slide. Click Format Background and a menu appears on the right-hand side. You could use colors, pictures, or textures.
In Normal view, select the slide you'd like to add a video to. On the Insert tab, click Video, then click Movie from File. In the Choose a Movie dialog box, select the file you want to insert. If you want to embed the video on the slide, simply click Insert.
Click the [Playback] tab > Locate the "Editing" group > Click [Trim Video]. Within the video, move the green slidebar to a new start location. Move the red slidebar to a new end position > Click [OK]. When finished, replay the trimmed video clip.
Try it! Open the slide that you want to put the screen recording on. On the Insert tab of the ribbon, select Screen Recording. On the Control Dock, choose Select Area (or if you want to select the entire screen for recording, press Windows logo key+Shift+F). ... Select Record. ... Your video is added to the slide.
