Steps (website) In Family Tree on the FamilySearch website, display the person page. Click the silhouette or portrait photo. Click one of the tabs: Select or upload the photo that you want to use as a portrait. Adjust the portrait so that it displays as you want it: Click Save.
Family Tree Maker stores its data in separate file types. All of the file types are stored by default in the following location: C:\Users\[User Name] If you do not see your own name, your files are most likely in something generic, such as Owner or User.
Or if you already have a tree on Ancestry, you can download and link it to a new tree in Family Tree Maker by clicking Download from Ancestry on the New Tree tab in the Plan workspace.
To attach a source from the Person Tab: From the People workspace and under the Tree tab (the Family tab in some versions), select the person in your tree to whom you want to attach a source. On the right side of the screen, click the icon to add a New source.
Click the Add button in the toolbar above the editing panel in the upper right of the screen and click on Add New Media Use the Select Media Item window to browse to where the image is located on your computer. When you find the image you want to add to your tree to click on it to select it and click Open.
Steps (Family Tree mobile app) In the Family Tree mobile app, display the person page. Tap the current portrait. Tap the pencil icon. Tap Edit Portrait. Adjust the portrait: Use the green dot to adjust the tags size. Drag the tag until it covers the part of the photo that you want to use. Tap Save.
