How to Pack Your Kids Summer Camp Backpack Get the right bag. Pack them up in a backpack with lots of pockets especially one with a side pocket that holds a water bottle. Label everything. Plan for the commute. Avoid growling stomachs. Bring on the hydration. Stay protected. Used is best. Bring a spare.
What to Bring Nourishment: Kids play hard at camp and as a result they often crave more food than they might normally eat at school or at home. Hydration: Water, water, water! Shoes that Will Help Them Play: Apply Sunscreen Before Camp: Weather Appropriate Clothing:
It doesnt matter which! Campers are free to bring a large duffel bag, a suitcase with or without wheels, a large plastic tub, or even a set of plastic drawers. Theres no need to buy anything specific, whatever you have at home will work just fine, but we dont recommend large trunks because of their size.
Unless your child doesnt intend to shower, he will need shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste and a toothbrush. It also helps to have an organizer, toiletry bag or shower caddy to put everything into and carry from bunk to shower and back. Quick Tip: Dont forget sunscreen (50 SPF of more) and insect repellent!
Food items: Some camps may not require you to carry foodstuffs. Depending on the summer camp you are visiting, it is crucial to inquire beforehand what you are not supposed to carry. Other items that you should not bring to the camp include alcohol, pets, inappropriate reading materials, hairsprays, perfume, cosmetics.
As soon as you have the trunk, you can start packing. Place your items directly in the trunk, as soon as you have labelled them. Dont use anything new if you dont have to. You dont want to risk ruining or losing anything before your kid even gets to camp.
By stashing your camping toiletries in a hanging toiletry bag and keeping them separate to the rest of your kit, youll find it much easier to freshen up on the trail or when in your tent.
Place things you know youll need faster, like PJs for the first night, toiletries, and undergarments on top or in an outside pocket. Bring a duffel bag instead of a suitcase. Space is very limited in the cabins, and the flexibility of fabric can sometimes allow you to fit more.
