Launch Microsoft Word and open the template to edit by clicking the “Open” option on the File tab. To find templates more quickly, click the “All Files” drop-down menu and select “All Word Templates,” then double-click the template to edit.

Templates are used to produce multiple documents of the same type. A template is a skeleton representing a given type of document, expressed in the format of the final documents to be produced (XHTML, for instance). The format of the final documents is called the target language and must be an XML language.
To use a pattern instead of a solid color in your table, click the Borders group dialog box launcher, click the Shading tab, and select a pattern in the Style list.
1. Open the Word document you would like to apply the template to, then click File > Options to open the Word Options dialog box. 2. In the Word Options dialog box, (1) click Add-ins in the left bar, (2) select Templates from the Manage drop down list, and (3) click Go.
To add a shape, click Insert, click Shapes, select a shape, and then click and drag to draw the shape. After you add one or more shapes, you can add text, bullets, and numbering to them, and you can change their fill, outline, and other effects on the Format tab.
Follow these steps to edit: Go to File > Info. Select Protect document. Select Enable Editing.
Go to Ribbon > Design tab. Then, click the Page Color button and choose Fill Effects from the dropdown. Click the Pattern tab to display the design choices available to you.
Word allows you to find/replace text patterns using codes in the form of ^code . These codes are unique to Word. To check these codes: Ctrl-H ⇒ "Replace" tab ⇒ Position your cursor inside the "Find what" or "Replace with" field ⇒ More ⇒ Special ⇒ choose the desire item to generate the ^code .
