now that ive kind of jumped back and forth between the character panel and the paragraph panel i want to focus a little more on paragraph formatting so im going to go to file and open in chapter 5 folder 3 im going to open up paragraph adjustments and we have just this one block of a text frame here so im going to pull the bottom edge way down and all of this text is justified it goes from the very far left of the column to the far right okay what i want to do is make sure when i am editing text i dont want my type to be hyphenated so you need to be aware that on your paragraph panel there is a hyphenate button its always hidden in the lower left corner so if i take my type tool and highlight all this text i can say hyphenate my text but then thats going to look stupid okay so when i zoom in right here alexa as well as a recent pic sure two generations says shan non you know that looks stupid collect is a word now its splitting it to collect ing or prima sure so i am not a big

Select the paragraphs you want to change. Go to Home Line and Paragraph Spacing. Choose the number of line spaces you want or select Line Spacing Options, and then select the options you want under Spacing.
Format paragraphs On your Android phone or tablet, open a document in the Google Docs app. Tap Edit . Double-tap the place in your document you want to edit. Tap Format. tap Paragraph. Next to Line spacing, use the arrows to choose the amount of space you want between the lines in the paragraph.
Good paragraphs begin with a topic sentence that briefly explains what the paragraph is about. Next come a few sentences for development and support, elaborating on the topic with more detail. On the Home tab, right-click any style in the Styles gallery and click Modify. In the Formatting section, make any formatting changes you want, such as font style, size, or color, alignment, line spacing, or indentation. Choose whether the style change applies to the current document or to all future documents.
Update a paragraph style In the Format sidebar, do one of the following: If theres an Update button: Click Update. If theres only an asterisk: Click the style name, then move the pointer over the style name in the Paragraph Styles pop-up menu. Click the arrow that appears, then choose Redefine from Selection.
A single line is inserted in the editor when this function is used. To insert a single line space in WordPress, click on Shift+Enter after the end of any line. Double Space: By default, the WordPress visual editor will provide you with a double space line every time you hit the Enter button.
Reset the paragraph settings On the Home tab or on the Page Layout tab, click the Paragraph Dialog Box Launcher in the Paragraph group. On the Indents and Spacing tab, change the Indent settings to the indentation settings that you want for the document.
You should start a new paragraph when: When you begin a new idea or point. New ideas should always start in new paragraphs. If you have an extended idea that spans multiple paragraphs, each new point within that idea should have its own paragraph.
