hello this is jonathan and welcome to tutorial text tutorial number five and today im going to talk about customizing page numbering last time we made a table of contents and it didnt quite work out the way we wanted it to look out or the way they normally are im going to open my template we ended up with page number starting on the first page which doesnt seem normal we dont want that so theres a way around that were going to use the command this page style empty which will suppress the page number on the first page then were going to we have to reset the the page number so were going to do set counter page one and what that does is it basically sets the next page to page one instead of the title page because we left it with just the empty uh if we suppress the page number the counter still started on the first page and therefore the next page will be a 2 but we dont want that we want it to be a 1. another thing thats really nice that you can do is you can set the page num
